    Hello, your first post has conflicting information, first you say
    There is 3.6 litres of water added to the 30 litres
    then your calculation states
    Calculated = 60*(30+3.5)/30
    Which i did not pick up on at first, i do apologise.

    If your data is 3.5 then the result is 67.0
    If your data is 3.6 then the result is 67.2

    Does that help?

    Thanks Stalker

    Yes that all makes sense

    I am just now enquiring if 60% is solid material and i remove the water that the solids now should be 67.2%...i now understand the calculation in Excel but am enquiring if the actual result is the correct answer.....with all the figures used above i need to know if removing the water from the sample will now be 67.2% solids instead of 60% with water

    Thanks again
