Review of username and password pairs so far
( and initial discussion of the 4 needed in total for successful Cloud P2P use on a PC) .
Because we have a few different username and password pairs to consider , and the order in which they are made is rather cumbersome , it is worth making a quick review of the username and password pairs made so far.
We have done 2 so far. ( In total later we will have done 4 )
I will use the actual values which I am using in the working worked example, so as to help demonstrate and help to avoid confusion.
The only significance to the number in which I have ordered them, is that they are in the order that you might typically encounter then for the first time.
The two name and password pairs made so far:
__ Name and password pair by first time DVR with Monitor, and needed in later LAN use on a computer
So far we have made one that was necessary at the time to make.
This was compulsory to make at the start of the initial set up when using the DVR for the first time from new.
It made it possible to set up the simplest use of the DVR using the basic components of at least one camera, a monitor and the DVR. ( A mouse was also necessary to have connected to the DVR, so as to add the first username and password pair via a menu on the monitor. This was the example values for username and password that I chose
admin
Sannce.!*
We have noted that we also need to use this same username and password pair later, in order to make it possible to make available in software on a PC for local LAN usage.
( We had the chance to choose the username, but we left it at the default admin )
___ User name and password pair needed in later making DVR available for remote CloudP2P use
During that initial set up, towards the end, we effectively made a second username and password pair. But it was not very obvious what or why we had to do that, and in fact we only made the password!:- We don’t not have a choice of the username and it is in fact the serial number, SN , of the DVR. For the DVR that I am using for the worked example, the serial number on a label underneath I have noted as
F539921254
The password is referred to as a Verification Code , and I expect only God knows why. Maybe I will know why at a later date. At the time of me writing this, nobody walking this planet knows why.
I chose , ( based on my experience of what sort of words work consistently ) the word Sannce2 for this “verification code”
The combination of the serial number and the verification code was then effectively
F53992124
Sannce2
Only as a result of my experience in finally successfully using these DVR systems do I know what this username and password pair is all about:
We need to use this username and password pair later in software to make available the Cloud P2P remote access of the DVR via the internet.
The other 2 needed user name and password pair ( We will meet these later )
I will mention here briefly the other two name and password pairs needed, but they will be discussed in more detail as and when we encounter them in the coarse of the later discussions and explanations
____ A simple user name and password ( for the administrator account, ) is required to log in to any installed Guarding Vision PC Client software, ( it will be prompted for by first running of the software ) I call this the 3rd username and password pair simply because it is the third typically encountered. It is probably the simplest and most obvious one to understand. Also, you would typically check a box to allow automatic login when you run the Guarding Vision Software, so you might rarely need to concern yourself with it after the time you set it.
_____ A rather difficult to explain or name, user name and password required to be registered with Sannce / Annke which allows for the exclusive Adding / making available of DVR devices . It is related to, and often needed in conjunction with the 2nd __ username and password pair needed in later making DVR available for remote CloudP2P use .
It is very easy to get these all mixed up, especially as it is not at all clear or well understood how when and why the cumbersome use is organised. This confusion is one of the main reasons that I have had to spend so much time on the issues.
