    _ 1 Files from Command windows compared to Device Manager Properties

    The files from either the two “command shell” ways are identical.
    There are 5 folders and 61 files with these extensions:
    dll 15
    bin 3
    cpa 1
    vp 5
    els 4
    bag 1
    xml 11
    js 3
    gdl 1
    cab 1
    ini 3
    cat 4
    inf 4
    pnf 4
    gpd 3
    exe 1
    Total is 61

    They list very small compared to the other lists ( the list is produced from this macro: http://www.excelfox.com/forum/showth...ll=1#post12347 )

    In the following post we apply some simple spreadsheet coding as used previously to compare the two worksheets,

    None of these files in the Command prompt produced list appear in the list produced from the Device Manager Properties.

    Conclusions/ Summary
    Files from Command windows compared to Device Manager Properties

    We modify the macro from here,

    , to this

    , and then re run on the worksheet with the now coloured found files. The modification is
    _ a) changing from a VBA “array” type code to a “spreadsheet” type code, which in turn allows us to
    _ b) check for cell text colouring, and so allow noting the number of files in any type which were also to be found in the list made from the Device Manager Properties
    We then have the following in the Immediate Window, on running Private Sub FileTypesHereArrays()
