Superscripting A Portion Of Text In Data Label Of A Chart

    Hi,

i am trying to Superscript the a portion of the text in data labels in a chart placed on a worksheet. Right now i have linked each data label to particular cells in the worksheet. But you can unlink the data label text from the cell. I just linked it for testing purpose.

I have attached a sample file with my code in it.

What i am trying to do is Superscript the Letters only and not the numbers. Interestingly, the code does superscript each data label correctly, but once it moves to another datalabel in the same series or other series, it seems to superscript some of the earlier data labels incorrectly - i.e. some numbers also get superscripted along with the letters.

e.g S23FD should become S23FD. But it is very erratic. i may be missing out something here.

What is the cause of such erratic behaviour?

Any help will be most appreciated.

For some reason, this is working flawlessly in Excel 2007, and erroneously in Excel 2010. Can't figure out why!

A dream is not something you see when you are asleep, but something you strive for when you are awake.

It's usually a bad idea to say that something can't be done.

The difference between dream and aim, is that one requires soundless sleep to see and the other requires sleepless efforts to achieve

    Exactly ExcelFox.

even tried using points, but same erratic behaviour in Excel 2010. this is leading to wrong stats results for ppl who are on 2010.

any alternate way to overcome this problem? somewhere on the net, in some post, someone mentioned of using Excel Comments to add superscripted/subscripted text to data labels.

If it's of any help, I'm using Excel 2007 MSO 12.0.4581.1014, and the code that I posted is working absolutely fine.
