Use Combobox List Instead Of Data Validation Dropdown List

Hello

Depending on the finished worksheet I find that sometime the data validation list becomes almost unreadable due to size of letters.If I require a control form button such as a combobox will that work as well in the same way as a DV dropdown list?
How do i use a combobox for the dropdown menu instead of a DV dropdown menu

Can this be done
