I jumped too eagerly and quickly to conclusions
After rechecking many Email accounts (InBoxes and spam folders), I come to the conclusion that I jumped too eagerly and quickly to conclusions…
It now seems that, (with just the exception of German Telekom freemail, ( t-online.de) ), all the Email providers I tried received the Email with the link to activate the account. Further more, because I in my ignorance I ignored it ( thinking the Email never came), another one with a new link to do the same account activation came two days later!
I have edited posts accordingly
I need to be more careful on noting the times involved in order to get a fee for the time it might take, so here is some more experiments…
This will test a couple of things.
_ Because I changed from the gmx net account, I assume it is now available for a new account registration??-.
_ I will make a new registration, and try to time careful how long things take, in particular how long before the confirmation Email with the activation link takes….
Here we go
_ I have a browser tab open ready to get the gmx net

_ Registering at time 10 04 goes OK

(??-so there was no problem using this Email to register )
Waiting waiting….. I will edit if I ever get the Email
So that was gmx net

Another Email provider that I initially mistakenly thought I never got the Email, was Outlook
But this time all went well and the confirmation came in Junk mail almost immediately ???
