    I am very sorry to hear of Richard’s death. He was a prominent Excel Forum member, mostly, as far as I know, at excelforum.com. We often don’t get to hear of members passing away: A lot of senior members are retired people, as Richard was, they spend a lot of their later years on forums.
    Richard had no interest here at excelfox.com, but I had some dealings with him back in my time at excelforum.com, and wanted to say a few words.
    Richard was a Moderator, who I found did not quite fit the typical Moderator at a major forum, he came across to me as “normal”, well balanced, and so I found him bearable:
    We once took a discussion of a thread a lot further privately. Of course that is strictly against one the Moderators own made sacred rules, but it was very interesting, and so we did not want to risk it being tanked;
    Earlier he once gave an interesting extra answer to a very old thread of mine. Often if somebody does that, it sends many Moderators into a Narcissistic Rage and they close or delete the old thread, and they mark the innocent poster for later punishment.

    Richard had some strong and successful interests outside the forum, so that may have helped to save him a bit.

    I am sorry he has gone.

    Alan
